Question Indecision Strikes

Hello there fellow Guild wars players.

Ive been playing for quite a bit now and have come upon a barrier which is stopping me from progressing.

Recently ive had these deep wishes of making an Elementalist, however i have every Elementalist skill unlocked(prophecies and factions skills) via pvp.

Ive considered making a mesmer(with whom not all is unlocked), however I believe it suits PvP more than it suits PvE.

Ive unlocked every monk skill ( restore condition was the most painful to cap , abbadons mouth 5 times >.< ), prophecies and factions, and i have a Roleplay monk.

I also possess a roleplay Ranger, Warrior, and Necromancer.

Unlock-wise, it would be smarter to make a Ritualist, assassin, or mesmer.

However, as stated before, Mesmer in Roleplay is meh...(dont flame me for this xD) Assassins are in top of the numerical food chain( as in, theres alot of them ), and Ritualists well, i have nothing against these so far.

So between creating either of the following four: []Assassin;Mesmer;Ritualist;Elementalist[]

Which one would you recomend?
I know playing with an Ele would be great fun(had one but deleted), but unfortunely i have everything unlocked on this proffession.
Would it be worth it starting a fresh Ele and following my heart?

Present your point of views and personal experiences/choices you made. :]

What type of character do you like to play?

I like monk the most, but rit is fun to play as a different style of healing or protection altogether.

Personally don't like sins.

Eles are fun, but it's just too easy (although alot of ppl aren't any better than sins).

Mesmer, I though about making a PvE mesmer (played all profs through the games, except for sin deleted at lvl 18), I think mesmers are great, just more suited for PvP.

If you're heart is telling you to make an Ele, then that's the route you should go.

A Mesmer would be a good second choice. There are several builds out there that work very well in PvE, contrary to popular opinion.

Assassins are extremely limited by the fact that they're less wanted in PUGs than Mesmers!

Don't know much about Ritualists, but they do seem to be more accepted into PUGs.

Well, personally i like the responsibility of assuring the team stays in top shape (health-wise), so monking is one of my passions. I have one however, and she has every monk skill unlocked.

Regarding Ritualists, well i supose its a Proffession I wouldnt mind playing, i have no reason for not liking it, but something tickles my brain for some reason, and while i dont find it unatractive, i dont find it atractive as well for that matter.

Theres the fact that, ritualists can have nearly the role of a monk, and I wish my characters were all quite different, so I can change my gameplay quite often. :]

Same for the Assassins, I feel like i can satisfy my needs for playing mellee with my warrior. So im not too Assassin inclined.

Between a Mesmer and an Ele, theres that issue again.

I like the energy bonus Eles have over any other proffession, and mainly i love their ability to inflict good AoE( which excites me alot ^_^ ) and spike.

I also forgot to mention that, i like characters which can be usefull in both PvE and PvP, since I like both sides Equally.

Yes my heart is indeed telling me to make an Ele, but i feel like it would be a "waste" since all ele skills are unlocked in my account, but since i guess the point is having fun and enjoying every second that i play then i supose you are right.

A Mesmer was also something I was inclined to creating, but the fact that they arent as versatile in PvE as in PvP sort of pushes me away.

Then again, with the new Heroes option coming over with Nightfall i supose it wouldnt be too hard making a group where i can happily and efectivelly cooperate with them.

What do you guys think?

i have both, and let me tell you, for PVE i enjoy my Ele much more then my Mes.

Mes is awsome in PVP, tons of fun, but Eles are making PVE look like a fancy party cuz its so easy and fun. seing those yellow numbers fly makes my soul happy, the only flaw about eles is that whenever you join a pug all they want you to do is echo meteor shower, but in general im having tons of fun with my ele.

about unlocks....why dont you just keep unlocking mesmers skills in pvp and have fun with ele in pve?

Seriously though, play what you will enjoy. You will find in the long run you will get much more value out of the game following what you enjoy over trying to unlock everything as if it is a chore. Unlocking things is fulfilling in a way, but devote yourself to be to much of a perfectionist and you will likely find yourself burnt out from grinding away at the minor things that matter little in the big scale of things.

Yes it makes my soul happy as well. ^___^
Being responsable for the main damage of the group makes me feel like im truly contributing to the success of the mission/quest/PvPmatch.
Plus theres always "GLF Nukers!!" chat being spamed around the mission outposts/etc.

Not that I have problems getting into a group, but the fact that I will be seen as someone who is contributing majorly to achieveing the objectives, and not some parasite leecher being caried over the mission, makes me feel happy.

Regarding Unlocks, if i have to farm another ecto more so i can afford those 1k skills il puke.
But you do make a point, and unlocking Mesmer skills while i happily play with an Elementalist would be the best option.

Yes I guess i should.
After all, Guild Wars is suposed to be a fun relaxing game, not work.
Which was the way i was facing it if having to play Assassin or Ritualist, I was regarding it as work with the only objective of unlocking skills.

^ hey a good idea for you!

E/Me is a common class for arcane echo, so why dont you unlock mesmer skills trough your secondary profession? thats how i unlocked 80% of my necro skills while playing a ranger (a year ago when touchies didnt exist so dont start flaming ).

just a hint: make a tyrian character cuz they get free skills and in factions you have to buy every 5 mins a new skill

I cannot believe I didnt think of that

/Doh

Its been over 16 months since I started playing Guild Wars, and i Still have quite a bit to unlock.
I know, shame on me.

The thing is, I wanted to unlock just about everything before I steped into Serious PvP.

But thats a good idea, and i still cant believe how it didnt ocurr to my brain.
Il be having the fun of my life while i nuke away, or spike away, or.. cast wattery hexes away( ^.^ ) and still be unlocking Mesmer skills.
Thank you. ^__^

It really makes me sad when people say mesmers this in pve mesmers that....

So far besides using mending, theres nothing MY mesmer cant do that a warrior can .

Id go with mesmer if you like to play spellcaster (you said you have a monk) and since you already unlocked everything for ele in PvP then Mesmer could be something new to try, by your rpg background I dont think you would like assassin, so yeah Mesmer or Ritualist, I cant really give you much feedback on ritualist but trust me , Mesmer is a class that can do anything PvE or PvP, you just have to let your imagination guide you in that sense

Yes indeed, I do like SpellCasting quite alot.
Actually, now that I think about it, Assassins dont really entertain me a whole lot (i feel as happy if not more playing with my warrior ; Towards Ritualists I feel a certain Apathy.
That indeed leaves Mesmer and Ele, why not create both? If I do so, i will only have one slot left for a Paragon or a Dervish Character.

Im considering creating a Canthan or Elonian Mesmer.

Seeing as I dont feel like Ritualists or Assassins atract me much, perhaps i should follow the bellow Slot setup?

Slots---->[Monk/necro/warrior/Ranger/PvPslot/Future Elementalist/Possible Mesmer/Paragon or Dervish.]

What do you all think?

Going E/Me will work fine. Using many of the Me skills with energy storage as your main can work decently.
Or you could go Me/E. FC PvE, though Ele Attune was hit by making it a storage skill.

I wasn't sure about Rt's too. But now that I have mine, I like it. Don't have a Mo though.
